mixed feelings
Have mixed feelings about this show. It's completely irreverent but often quite funny, especially the wicked baby, Stewie, but I wince at some of the jokes, especially about females. My 13 year old son loves it. We watch it together so at least he knows my take on it.

Seth MacFarlane's Humor is One of a Kind in "Family Guy"
This show is R-rated comedy for prime time. It is a good show for teenagers and adults to laugh at. It has a lot of one-liner humor, situational humor, and shock value humor. Episodes have parodied political situations, other media, religious beliefs, everyday situations (such as meeting your in-laws), and even their own broadcasting station FOX. This is NOT a show for kids and is intended for older teens and adults, this has even been confirmed by the show's writing staff. It is funny, unpredictable, and on it's way to become the next "The Simpsons". Bottom line: The show is usually rated TV-14 DLSV. Ages 16+. 5/5 stars. Enjoy.

People have to realize that these are made up characters. They aren’t real people or are suppose to be real people. It's a cartoon. If any thing, "normal life" would be the opposite of what Stef is trying to entertain us with. I think Family Guy is fine for my 13 yr. son as long as I give him parental guidance. I think it is a very educational and funny show as long as you look beyond the apparent facade.

You don't have to be religious nut or even particularly moral to identify Family guy as an ethical train wreck. This show is loathsome towards woman, and finds humor in making a mockery of sexual violation and wanton murder. I don't know how this one flew under the radar here at common sense.

Has Fried Itself
Seasons 1-3 were awesome, Season 4 was okay, Season 5 was better, Season 6 was too much, and now Season 7 has shown that the show is done with. It will be on through 2011 due to contract reasons, but it is no longer funny. Now it is just offensive and no longer funny at all.

This is the best and funniest show on tv IMO, but has lots of mature content such as mild to strong sexual themes, some gory cartoon violence strong language and some drug use. but it should be ok for kids 13 and up.

This is a hilarious show but a lot of times my parents make me turn it off because it's too raunchy and times. Nothing is too explicit though. If your kids are not old enough the jokes will fly over their heads and it won't be as enjoyable for them anyway so basically your kids will have to be old enough to actually like the show. A lot of the jokes are controversial or about sex. There is mild cursing but again if your kids are too young for it then it wont be funny. The dog has a drinking problem and the dad and his friends are always seen at the bar. But Its a fantastic show!

Family Guy is not a family show. There is alot of sexual humor, language, and some violence. The characters that show all the humor are Stewie, Brian, and Peter Griffin. This show in my point of view was a riot and think it's hilarious. Kids 15+ would enjoy this show very much. Kids under 15 could not understand some of the Jokes or sexual humor. Overall, this show is funny and I think i could own this on DVD.

I am an adolescence and I have seen this show. And I know this is a little young for this. But heres a secret for those who don't know it all ready. Kids already know about this stuff. In our media world we have already seen all this. The difference in this show is it takes it in a positive matter. It all so gives the message that everything will turn out good. The good news is that it is hilarious for people old enough. I know 10 year olds who have seen this. But this is too mature.

Good for kids 14 and up, kids under twelve shouldn't watch this, not because it's bad, they just won't get it.
First off, I wonder why the heck this show is rated by a bunch of kids under 12. Sure it's innapropriate for kids under 14, but they wont even get most of the refrences, even if they think they do, they don't. 14 and up can handle it. Parents should relax a little. If your kind can laugh, but be mature at the same time, LET THEM WATCH THE SHOW. Loosen up you bunch of conservatives. It's not going to poison your kids, if it does, it's not as much as an average day at an American public school. Im 13 so it's not the best thing for my age. But yet... It's still a funny show. But i still get most of the jokes. But sometimes there may be some that I won't get. But only a tiny bit. The jokes are always sexual, violent, or plain awful.
