Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about the movie's message. Does the true meaning of Christmas get lost in materialism?
- Can you think of real world examples of how that is true?
- How could you work against that -- either in your family or in society?

Oh my goodness!! One of my favorite Christmas movies!
This is one of my must-sees every Christmas. Everything is clean and it tells the true meaning of Christmas. So cute!

Great for All!
There's some minor name calling (stupid) but nothing to worry about. A Christmas classic!

I like this special, it's okay. But I have yet to understand why it has gotten so famous as it has. The voice actors and actresses always sound a bit bored, for some odd reason. Unless this airs on a night when ABC Family isn't airing a claymation Christmas special, I don't watch it because it's not one of my priorities. A more heartwarming Christmas special (yes, it's a claymation one) would be The Story of the First Christmas Snow (shortened to 'The First Christmas' or 'The First Christmas Snow' on the TV Listings, usually).

This is a great family oriented classic!
This is so GREAT! This Christmas special is funny, witty and great for family viewing. I've watched it every Christmas of my life, and it NEVER gets old! It tells the true meaning of Christmas. It doesn't smear it like saying that Christmas is just a time for joy and giving, but says that the reason for Christmas is that Jesus came to Earth to save us from our sin. A must watch for everyone(including Atheists). Regarding language, COME ON PEOPLE!!! "Stupid" and "Blockhead" aren't swearwords! All you need to do is tell your kids not to say those words! I mean, it does'nt have the D or H word in it! YOU MUST WATCH IT!!!!!!!

This movie actually gives the True Meaning of Christmas!!!
Even though I am 13 yrs old, I enjoy this. Why are reviewers saying that this movie has bad language??? I don't know. They dont say d**m or s**t or f**k or anything like that. The worst it gets is "Stupid" and thats not bad at all. Reviewers are "stupid" if they say that "stupid" is a bad word. This movie is appropriate for ages 0-1000. Good Movie.

Watch the languaeg
The story is wonderful, however there are MANY instances of use of the word "stupid", as well as "I know you hate me". You may have some explaining to do with younger children.

funny
not proud of the words stupid, slug, and blockhead but good for christmas

Not as benign as I remembered
Watched with my almost three-year old just weeks ago. She loved it, BUT Mom and I were quite surprised at some of the language. My daughter came away with two things from the movie: a great imitation of Snoopy's laugh (good) and the use of the word "slug" (as in "I'm going to slug you") accompanied by a swinging of the fist (bad). The word "stupid" is also thrown around quite a lot and I am thankful my daughter never picked up on it. We have the book version of the story, so we will skip the TV version in the coming years.

For pre-schoolers + not toddlers
When I decided to share this childhood favorite with my own children, I found that the other characters' treatment of Charlie Brown was far crueler than registered on me as a child. Better to wait until kids are 5 and up. Once the kids are older, there is no better holiday progarmming than this.

Much meaner than I remembered
I rented this to watch with my 2 and 3 year olds, but we ended up stopping it. The peanuts kids can say pretty mean things to each other, which I think is a little much for preschoolers, but probably ok for older kids with parental discussion.

BEST!!!
this is one of the BEST Christmas movies EVER!!! i love it!!! The Peanuts characters are the BEST!!

The movie is a classic, but I don't want my 3 and 4 year olds to be saying the word "Stupid" or "blockhead". The characters say those words a lot. My kids will obviously pick up that language later. A good movie in that the gospel and the birth of Christ is spoken by one of the characters verbatim from scripture so that the true meaning of Christmas is shared.
