Go ahead and let the family watch this one.
What can I say? It's classic Indiana Jones. Our entire family watched it and had a blast. Complete with silly one liners, predictable jokes and lots of action...how can you not love this movie? This one is (as always) visually appealing with an interesting story line. And you know what? Harrison Ford is still handsome :0)

- Excessive violence
I think this was by far the worst of the series, the story line was just ridiculous. My husband and I screened this for our 5 year old who was dying to see it (He'll be dying to see it for another 7 or so years) Though I didn't care for the plot myself, the level of scary moments seemed greater in this than most of the others put together. Just doesn't seem like entertainment for a younger crowd.

Indiana Jones meets Hogan's Heros
My 10 year old son and I watched it and really enjoyed it. Not too scary. Not too sexy. Good special effects. Stereotypes and caricatures as in each movie in the series. Fun.

Last hour ruins the whole trip
It was an amazing and one of the best movies until the last hour packed with stupid scenes and horrible ending.

Should not be marketed to under age 13 kids!
All the hype and marketing and commercialism surrounding this movie is aimed at kids under age 13. But the language and violence in this movie is strictly for the over 13 crowd. I won't take my son to see movies that include the use of the phrase "son of a b****" as this movie does, or "Damn it" or a host of other cuss words that stream from Mutt's mouth. There is no character development in this movie, it's all violence and cuss words. Too bad, because the other Indy movies are priceless (again for the over 13 crowd).

PG THIRTEEN
I saw this movie with adults, and was disturbed by the number of very young children (4-7) in the theatre. I read down the list of content descriptions that Common Sense provides and if I read that list (especially the violence summary) without knowing what movie it was there is no way that I would say that is fine for an 11 year old to see. I have never considered the MPAA to be overly conservative in their ratings, so to be recommending movies without a "know your kid" to a younger age group is a little unsettling. That said, for the right age group (when the first Indy movie came out it was an adult movie) it was fun to see our hero a little older and slower, but still following his passions. A little over done with the special effects, it didn't have that rugged location feel that the old Indy movies had. The movie was less about the plot than about catching up with an old friend.

What a let down!
Film makers took every stunt cliche they could think of and wrote the plot to string them together. ALIENS?!?! Come, on! Don't waste your money... don't even rent it, or DVR it. If it comes on cable in 3 years and there aren't any Law & Order or CSI reruns on, it MIGHT be worth your time to watch it... but then again, maybe it's time to scrub out the trash cans!

Classic Indiana
Overall a great rendition of an Indiana Jones movie. Some intense gross outs with bugs and such. A little scary for my 7 year old. I didn't appreciate the language a couple of times mostly from Shia LeBouf. Probably trying to draw in the teenagers. Liked it and will rent it on video too!

Good, but not great...
I definitely liked this movie. Harrison Ford was great, as usual. Cate Blanchett was wonderful; her accent was not. Other actors definitely held their own. The plot was slightly convoluted, especially at the end, but not so much that it detracted from the movie. I saw this movie with my son, who is 9 1/2, and his friend who just turned 10. Both boys loved the movie. My son was frightened by several scenes, most notably the already noted 'ant' scene, and a scene in a graveyard. The other boy did not seem to be bothered by any part of the movie. In short, I think the closer to 10 the better with this movie. There is quite a bit of violence, even though you don't see a lot of it.

Fun adventure with typical Indiana Jones violence
My nearly 9 yr old son and I had a great time seeing this movie on a megascreen, which helped add to the fun. Yes, there's violence, but curiously mostly fist-fighting, as well as some language parents may not like. The ants were gross, too. Definitely not a movie for kids frightened of skeletons, cemeteries. But we appreciated the adventure, the over-the-top style. I love Karen Allen back as Indy's love interest. How cool to see her looking older but still spunky and beautiful! Roger Ebert's review seems about right. I also agree with reviewer that you might need to explain 1950s cold war history to kids.

A disappointing 3rd Movie
A disappointment. Too much hard-to-believe stunt-cg stuff. The beauty of the others were that it was less high-tech (hence more believable) and played more on your senses from natural causes (snakes, etc.) The language is not mild. When is s**t mild? That was R rated in my day. It's ok to call me conservative, but we need more conservativism in today's media. Most of the time, coarse language in movies is unnecessary and really lowers the bar on the quality of effort behind the movie. Would the "Sound of Music" or "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" or "Gone with the Wind" or any other timeless classic be a classic if they put s**t or worse into the movie? Ths Indy movie is mildly entertaining - spend your money on Prince Caspian (good movie and no coarse language)

Fun Adventure
Very exciting movie, especially for boys. Less violent than previous Indy films and introduces young character that children can cheer for. Ants were a bit disturbing. Several deaths but no gore.

Bad bad bad. Shame shame shame. Indiana Jones back as an ageing 50 year old?! The storyline is absolute garbage, nothing like the traditional Indy. And he survives a nuclear explosion is a FRIDGE?! PLEASE PEOPLE, WAKE UP TO YOURSELVES!

This movie was very cool. In the back of my mind it still was a little over the top, but I still kinda like the idea of "whoops almost said a spoiler to those who havent seen the movei" Good for Indy fans but not as well as the rest of the movies.

It's just not good
I went into the theater on opening day, expectations dangerously high, heart pounding through my chest. Everyone I was with (and that was 13 people, mind you) just couldn't handle the wait. As we sat down and the previews begun, I swear that my heart was loud enough for the Emperor of China to hear! Then, the movie started. By the time it was over. I think I was crying (and not for a good reason.) It was just TERRIBLE! First off, Cate Blanchett should win a Razzie for worst actress, she did the worst Russian accent I've ever laid ears in. Secondly, did they honestly believe that aliens (yes, you read that right) went with an Indiana Jones film? Third, by the end of the film, they all end up in a temple that could help them find the Golden City but turns out to be the breeding place of a super-smart alien race with skulls made of crystal and not a temple but a space ship that wants to suck the heroes and villain into another dimension-(BREATH) lame, isn't it? Not to mention hard to follow. And last but not least,I nearly fell asleep in the theater, something I have NEVER EVER done before. So, unless you are mentally insane, STAY AWAY from Indy 4. PLEASE!

Average overhyped blockbuster
I didn't expect much going to see the move and got nothing out of it leaving the movie. The plot is really poor if you think about it I mean Indiana Jones shouldn't be about some aliens. The only reason I gave the movie three stars was because some actions scenes were very fun to watch and it made a poor plot into an okay movie. But still not up to par with any other Indiana ones movies.

it was better than i thought!
i thought it was going to be stupid but it was really good!! the violence was iffy in some parts but nothing horrible. the only part that disturbed me was when the ants were attacking them but that was it! nothing for a young kid to watch but is was good!

I enjoyed the movie
It was an awesome movie for kids 10 plus. There is some foul language and constant violence, but no sexuality or drug refrences. It is an awsome movie for indiana Jones fans and for any fans of action movies. This movie is deffanetly not for little kids because of the violence. But overall this movie is over rated
