this movie is awsome it has cool fight sequences. it also has good acting from gerald butler the only complain is the slow motion its to much and that kind of ruins the movie for me.

I think this movie was good, thought deffinitely NOT for young viewers. Explicit love scenes and lots of blood make for an ADULT movie, but still Gerard Butler is fantastic.

I really enjoyed this clever blend of genres. It was The Matrix meets Troy. I truly enjoyed the battle sequences; they were magnificent; awesome! But, some protracted portions of the film were boring, which is why I deducted points of how well made it was.

I took my 17 yr old son & buddy - thinking it would be just good, red-blooded American violence. But, nope, the nipple quotient was way too high for this dad. Besides the sex, movie was just plain stupid.

This movie should be watched by 12 year olds around the world! It teaches them what breasts and butts are. Profanity is good for kids! Blood is also good for kids, it lets them know how reality is!

WHAT?? 15 year olds shouldent watch this movie at all. Theres soo much blood and gore and legs and heads and arms ugh its crazy violence. Then you see a womens breast fully when shes having sex with the main character.

NOT A HISTORY LESSON
superb film. beautiful scenery and amazing slow-mo blood-soaked action. although the film was almost completly unbelievable, its an action film. its ok for 13 and up. it was pretty violent, had a lot of blood and it had 3 parts where a head was severed in slow motion. it did have 2 sex scenes but they were pretty well censored and not explicit. violence=moderate to strong, sex=mild to moderate. its fine for 13+

finally a movie that explains the way we should be fighting the war on terror. the sex and orgy and rape scenes are pointless. the story is true to what happened although there were more warriors at thermoplye then the movie shows it gets the impotant stuff right. there is nothing wrong with teaching your children how to fight!

Very discusting!
Okay, so this movie is not only extremely bloody and gross but there is VERY graphic sexual scenes as well. First off the blood in this movie is..well...seen in almost EVERY scene. A mans head gets chopped off and you can see the insides as well as the graphic stabbings. As for the sex, there is a woman swaying in an exotic way and she isn't clothed. Although you cannot see genitals, you can kind of see her breasts through the cloth, in which her nipples are VERY visible. Later on in the beginning a woman is having sex and her breasts are completely visible and she is displayed having sex in many positions with a man. The there is also an illusion of an orgy. Woman are kissing each other and dancing erotic but in only two parts are breasts visible. This whole scene lasts for about a minute or two. I would not let my 15 year old see this. It was absolutely disgusting and unbelievably graphic. I DO NOT recommend this for ANY childs age.

Good movie
I really enjoyed this movie. I didn't mind the violence but the sex/nudity was a problem for me. It wasn't just one scene there were many. There was lots of kids there and I was frankly suprised that the parents would let young kids watch. I personally wouldn't watch it again just because of the sex/nudity scenes.

A must watch
Amazing movie! I quite enjoyed it, and in relation to history it was amazingly accurate (I would say 90% or so). Very bloody, lots of battle scences which is good. There were also a few sex scences but nothing a 16 year old can't handle. Great computer animation and the bloody parts were well done. A 5/5 by me.

Eye candy.
The main thing to remember about this movie is that it's pure eye candy. The story is old and everyone should know what they're getting into right off the bat, especially if you know anything about Frank Miller and any other movie or graphic novel he's associated with. The film is not very deep, but with a few side stories to break up the continuous battle scenes. Gritty, bloody, sexy and beautiful to watch.

Never Judge a book by its cover
When my husband brought this movie home, I looked at the dvd and I wasnt too thrilled about watching it. It appeared to have lots of gore and fighting and not much of a storyline. In keeping an open mind, though, I decided to watch it. I was pleasantly suprised at the storyline it presented and its abundance in history. The movie had a pretty good storyline but it did have a tendency to drag in some areas. The acting was mediocre since it appeared that the actors were reading lines in some parts and didnt show the emotion that the lines should have. Over all, I did like the movie and recommend anyone who would like to learn a little more about Spartain history woudl enjoy this movie. However, make sure the kids are at a slumber party cause it isnt for the eyes of little ones.

It's not that violent or disgusting
300 takes place in a time where war ruled and being nice got you killed. If my kid was 13, I'd let him watch it because it's not that bad.

I'm divided on this one...
This movie was excellent as far as cinematography and choreography goes. I love the settings and just how everything looks. However, it does have some seriously graphic violence. (close ups of severed heads and the like) Also, the nudity is a big issue. I wish they did not have to put that in there.

This movie would have been very good minus the grotesque sex scenes. It was completely inappropriate, especially an orgy scene in Zertsy's dwelling. During the orgy scene, there was a man that had a head of a goat, which I saw as near demonic. There was also nude women engaging sexually w/each other. The whole part disturbed me so much that I almost walked out of the theater. Even worse, someone next to me had her children with her that all looked under the age of 10. They looked very uncomfortable, hiding their eyes, and biting their fingernails. YIKES!

This movie is pretty good. I liked it. It does contain Graphic Bloody violence (animated, but still blood) and it also has a sex scene with nudity, as well as some other instances of nudity.

This blood soaked superb blood bath is simply amazing. As the 300 spartans jump out onto the screen, they leave a gory path of devastation behind them. Nearly everything in this movie is CGI, even the Spartans nipples and hair apparently! Not for the kids.

Violent, but Historical factor to Ancient Greece
300 is by far the best historical film i've seen in my life. It is about the historical battle of thermoapalye with the 300 spartans against a 1,000,000 persians. the violence for the most factor is the battles. Anyway someone can get killed they show it. Overall anybody who learned about this historical battle will like it

I like this movie. Even though there is alot of sex, it does capture the essence of the Spartans. As someone who has just studied this battle in History, I think it is a good representation.

I think it is an amazing movie. But there are many very violent and bloody scenes. also there is a sex scene between Leinidas and his queen and you can see the boobs of the queen a couple of times. Also, the oracle os wearing a thin white cloth and you can see her boobs a couple of times. And there is a scene where you can see girls kissing and having sex. The queen also gets forced into sex with a politician to win his vote.

Amazing repersintation of history
A king who will sacrifice his life for his people's freedom is a better theme than the sugary-pop let's all get along annoying tone of High School Musical for teens. And the two people engaging in the sex scene are married which can't be said for most movies. All in all this movie is very gory but is a very good representation of ancient Greek history. Gerard Butler did an amazing job capturing the courage of King Leonidas. I suggest that if your young teen wants to see it, let them but be sure to be there the first time they see it.

Films that are based on a true story shouldn't be punished by the MPAA
My MPAA rating. Rated R for strong violence and brief sexuality. The reason my rating is a lot lighter than the MPAA because this is a true story and I don't think that movies should be punished for telling the truth. I do admit there are 3 decapitation scenes shown very graphicly one shown with the man's head kind of floating in the air. And there is one brief scene of sexuality revealing a woman's breast and a man's butt. This is a graphic movie hands down but one that is told so amazingly that older teens have to see it.

Parents should know that this movie is literally filled with blood. Heads are sliced off, limbs are hacked, and torsos are stabbed and shot at with arrows. Blood flows, splatters, and spurts. There are several explicit sex scenes, including an orgy and brutality is encouraged. Older teens would do fine with this film.

This was so good, I loved it!!
I think that 300 is a good movie for men and boys above 9. My mom left for a few parts but they weren't so bad. The only part that i didn't like was when they um, acually i don't think that they had a bad part. My favorite part was when the other sparten army marched to battle. So i think that is a good movie.

It was a whole lot more violent, but there was also quite a bit more sex than at least I'm used to. This movie is definitly for teens and older. It's more of a guys' movie, but some girls might like it.

This movie is really cool, but definitly not OK...
...for my age. I could handle it. It has major sexual issues, tons of unnecessary nudity(unfortunately)and as everyone expected, tons o' violence. Well, with almost every issue in movies it's not appropriate right? Right. Don't get me wrong, this movie is amazing, and well-thought out. See it if you are 13+, or if you are a huge daredevil, 9+.

A bit advanced, but is perfect for 13 year olds
Too Violent but still a good movie with awsome animation. Kids wil learn alot of history and appreciate more of Greek history. Although there are scnes that are not for kids, everyone knows things about adult life when they are 13 (MAYBE MATURE 13 year olds). Perfect timing, not too long, not too short, 2hours and 13 minutes. Unfortunately, it is rated R but it deserves a PG-13. (In Quebec, it's rated 13+) (I live in quebec).

Yes the sex is a rob;em but you could easily skip it. The violence is iffy but if your kid is about to turn 13 (like me) or older its ok. But altogether a great masterpiece, great cinamatorgraphy!!!

the BEST movie ever
i was hoping for a really realistic battle scene movie and that is just what i got. The movie 300 is my favorite movie that i have seen. It is true that it has a lot of bloody and sex scenes, but not that much to make a parent change their mind on letting their kid watch this movie. (especially if he really wants to) I had to study the war in history and watching the movie afterwards made it a lot clearer to me and made it a lot more interesting. WATCH THIS MOVIE!!! its awesome!!!

the sex is bad (duh) so get it on DVD or HDDVD and skip it my mom did that for us like in every bad movie we watch. The sex part had no story line so fast foward, the action is great its a little bloody but boys like it that way.
