What Parents Need to Know
This review of SpongeBob vs. The Big One: Beach Party Cook-Off was written by Erin Bell
Parents need to know that the game is a collection of cooking-themed mini-games based on the SpongeBob Squarepants cartoon series. The game stays true to the series, and there's no objectionable content to speak of – besides the fact that the Planktons are being paid far less than minimum wage. The game supports a multiplayer mode for up to four players to go head-to-head locally – each person must have a Nintendo DS and a copy of the game.
Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about wages. Was it fair for Plankton to expect his cousins to work for free in his restaurant just because they were family? What is "minimum wage" and why is it an important concept? If you could make one of the Krusty Krab's dishes in real life, which one would it be?

What’s the Story?
The Krusty Krab kitchen is divided into four stations; Prep, Grill, Fry and Plating. When a customer requests a dish, various Plankton will start working on it. The problem is, they aren't very good, so often you'll need to jump in and help them finish the job. Perform well, and you'll earn cash and other bonuses. From the Management menu, you can set your menu by swapping unlocked recipes in and out, buying new furniture for the restaurant, and checking in on the skills of your workers, which increase every time they perform an action. The more skilled they are, the less you'll have to help them. Close
