What Parents Need to Know
This review of Family Guy was written by Marc Saltzman
Parents need to know this game offers the same crude humor, inappropriate jokes, and crass comments that populate the adult TV show with a cult following, including jabs at various religions, people with disabilities, and inappropriate sexual remarks. Parents must be aware that while this game looks like a cartoon, it is full of risqué content that is inappropriate for children. There is cartoon violence and one character enters another character's body through the penis.
Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about why the outrageous comments and over-the-top situations that this family gets into are funny. What makes politically incorrect attitudes funny? When do these attitudes cross over the line and become offensive? Why is material funny to some, and offensive to others?

Is It Any Good?
The problem with FAMILY GUY is that none of the three kinds of game styles is done exceptionally well. For example, Stewie's platformer levels can be difficult to control when performing the double-jump or floating maneuvers, while Peter's fighting scenes grow repetitive after a while. The game isn't bad, but what stops fans of Family Guy from turning it off is the clever writing, familiar voice talent, and lovable characters. Some scenes are downright hilarious -- that is, if you find the risqué television show funny.
The Family Guy video game is rated "Mature" mainly due to its crude humor. Expect many off-color jokes related to sex, religion, race, and disabilities, as well as toilet humor. While it's an average game, Family Guy is worth the ride for fans of the television show. But others should avoid this title like Peter avoids hard work and quality family time.

It's a fun game. Better than most games based on movies/tv shows. It's also fairly tame for an M-rated game, however there is one particular level that takes place in a prison shower room, there is sexual innuendo and partial nudity. Also Peter goes around beating up women and children. I think those are the factors that caused the game to be M-rated. There isnt even any blood in the game.

"Family Guy" should stick to their 5-star TV show instead of 3-star video games
Based on the television series of the same name, "Family Guy: The Video Game" doesn't live up to their TV image. This goes to show no matter how famous and hilarious a TV show is, video games aren't their next step up in fame. This game is nothing but repeats of old episodes that you get to play through ("Screwed the Pooch", "Emission Impossible", and "Mr. Saturday Knight"). But, to their benefit, it is a fun game to play.
