More on Batman Begins

What’s the Story?

Based on the movie of the same name, this action-adventure game allows players to take the role of Bruce Wayne, who begins his crime-fighting career after witnessing the murders of his parents in Gotham City. The game starts in the Himalayas, where you learn the skills of a ninja from your mentor. Once your training is finished, you return to Gotham City to continue your fight for justice.

When playing BATMAN BEGINS, you have a variety of gadgets and skills you can use, including a radar screen in the bottom corner that helps you locate enemies. Batman also has the skills of a trained acrobat, allowing you to climb fences, jump ledges, and swing from building to building with ropes. You can sneak up on your enemies and eliminate them from the game using special knockout moves.

Is It Any Good?

The game is easy to pick up and play, but still offers plenty of excitement. There are multiple levels and a variety of scenes ranging from the Wayne Manor to abandoned warehouses. You unlock bonuses as you complete levels, such as interviews with the movie cast. The characters in the game look and sound like the characters in the movie, and the game includes the voices of actors including Liam Neeson.

It's worth noting that Batman is a dark character, and while there is no blood or death (Batman actually defeats many of his enemies by scaring them), the fighting system allows you to punch and kick your enemy with force, and you'll do just enough damage to temporarily disable them. This makes the game a better choice for teens, especially fans of the series who will get the most out of playing as the Caped Crusader.

I rate this title on for age 12 and give it 3.0
    My concerns are:
    • Excessive violence
    • Inappropriate language
    • Negative message
    • Negative role models

    Not for kids under 12

It is a fun but a violent game. It can take about 3 hours to beat the game and it involves guns swords fists knives and baseball bats. You have to save Gotham from the bad Falcony and the scarecrow!

I rate this title iffy for age 17 and give it 4.0

    Harsh language + violence

First, the positives: the game is gorgeously rendered & atmospheric. By far THE most immersive Batman game ever. The voices & faces of the actors put you in the movie, and the range of options--striking from ambush, stealth, gadgets--finally takes us beyond a mindless fighting game. Now, the negatives: the language startled me. You will encounter d's and h's aplenty, but be prepared for it to get even saltier with some of the villains (particularly the first big boss, Falcone). It is definitely a PG-13 game. The violence is actually toned down from what I expected, although some of the fear-toxin-induced images could be unsettling for younger players. A great game that even my older kids unfortunately will not be allowed to enjoy because of frequent harsh language and occasional intense images.

    FUUUUUUNNN!!!!!

I played this game at my uncle's house because I love batman, It was awsome!!!! there is some bad stuff though, 1. lots of guns, punching, kicking, and batman chokes people to get information, there is no killing but the way batman hurts those vilans I wouldn't be suprised if they did die. 2. a couple swear words like "what the @#*&!?! 3. scarecrow uses this spray to drug people. so I recomend this game to any kid 12+ looking for an awsome action game!
