    Like visiting an old friend.

This book is one of the best children's books available. Every home and library should have a copy. It is the first book in a very, very intriguing series. There is nothing wrong at all with this book.

    a classic must read

This book is really wonderful and has such a special meaning (you have to read and it is how Charles Wallace saves the others) My son loves it and I have read it to him twice, we also bought the movie, which is very good. Kids will love this book. It could be a bit scary for younger children so beware of that.

    Read before your kids

Some pretty mature themes and kids may be asking questions. I would read before and recommend to older established readers. The subject is complex and what you make of it. Be prepared for some unusual discussions about serious moral topics.

I love when they kiss. But its not an issue at all. Its romantic

I think this is an absolutely, positively awesome book. It is a must be read book. Madeline L'engle is a great author. Keep it up Madeline!

A little scary but the girlpower message is great

Meg is a great hero for young girls, proof that girls can be good at science and math. Their family imparts positive messages, since they are close and loving. All books in this series (and also the Austin series which partially intersects later in the series) are fantastic and very well-written!

Favourite book as a child and still is

I think I've had 5 copies of this book and the other 2 in the series and I keep giving them away so others can read them. This was my favourite book as a child and I still read it once a year just to keep fresh- make sure you and your child read it together at least once for a discussion as some of the concepts might be a little over the top for the younger crowd, particularly in book two but the characters fit just about anybody and are very likeable. I think what makes the series special to me personally even now is that though it is not a religious series, there are a few theories touched on that have backed up my spiritual life into adulthood so I keep replacing those books- my last set was a wedding gift I intend to keep this time, lol!

I loved this book! I have read it three times. I don't see how anybody could find this boring or "lame" as the thirteen year old said. Charles Wallace and Meg and Calvin are very good role models who teach you to use your brain to solve problems instead of asking other people to solve them for you. Five stars for this book!

to each his own, I suppose...

I honestly don't see why there are kids my age saying that they found it incredibly broing, it put them to sleep, whatever. I read this book when I was 9, and I LOVED it. It was very exciting for me and I loved every singly line in this book. But everyone can have their own opinion, I guess.

It Was The Worst Thing Possible: Boring

I just couldn't get into it at all. I couldn't even get past the first few chapters. And I love to read, and I've read many classics that other people called boring and loved them, but this book just wasn't compelling for me. I don't know, maybe it's something that girls enjoy more than guys.

    Awesome Sci-Fi novel certainly delivers!

Meg Murry is bad in school and she rough-houses a lot. Her brother Charles Wallace is very smart at the age of 5. Meg's friend Calvin is a tall, skinny basketball player. But suddenly three old women appear. Meg has to learn how to tesser, or go through time and space. This book is a clever blnd of fairytales, sci-fi, noir, and philosophy. The enemy is a giant brain controlling lots of people on a mysterious planet. AWIT is such a good book. I recommend it for all ages!

    A Wrinkle in Time

A very creative, interesting book, how Madeline L'Engle thought of this, no idea. It's a hard book to put down, but it's missing something. stars: 4 Not for ages 7 and under

    A must read for everyone!

I read this book, and I finished it in three days flat because it was so catching! It just sweeps you up and holds you in suspense until the end of the book. If it were any better, no one who picked it up could put it down until they were finished with it!! :) an excellent read for everyone 7+.

A must read... and I really mean it!

In this book, L'Engle is abselutely amazing. I read this book in first grade because I had an above average comprehension level but I would recommend it a few years later. At the youngest I would say, oh, about, sixth grade at the youngest, fifth grade if you want to push it. I loved this book so much I read it three times. If you like this, I suggest continuing the series.

A must-read book for any teen

I got this book as a reading assisnment in English. I must say I was not happy. Yet once I started reading it I could not put it down. I had to keep reading just to see what was going to happen next. With every turn of the page I was excited to read more. Very enjoyable, fun to read, easy to follow book. I ENJOYED IT A LOT!!!!
