A book every mother and daughter should read
As a teacher and former camp counsellor I find this book to be an accurate portrayl of a very serious and common coming-of-age problem. It presents the story of Isabelle Lee, a thirteen-year-old girl who is dealing with some pretty heavy issues. First of all, her father has died and noone in her house is allowed to talk about it, grieve or move on. Because of this, Isabelle tries to deal with the pain of situation on her own. This leads her to numb the pain with bulimia. Her mother finds out and sends her to group where at frist she is hesitant to open up but soon shares her story with her counsellor, Trish. Also at group, she meets Ahsley Barnum, the so-called perfect girl. Ashley intorduces Isabelle to new wasys of dealing with her eating disorder (laxatives). At first, Isabelle admires Ahsley but she soon learns the truth about her new friend's not-so-perfect life. This book deals with the harsh reality of eating disorders, greiving, peer pressure, sibling rivalry, friendship and body image. Friend presents an accurate and bittersweet portrayl of these issues. Because of the vivid description of bulima I would reccomend that a mother and daughter read and discuss this book together.

I think it is a must read for mature kids 11 and older. Although, it has a few gross scenes, it is very touching. It is about a girl struggling to overcome bulimia.

I loved the book and i 'll read it over and over
i think the book would touch a lot of teens because this book not only reflects on a regular girl in the school who thinks she is not as pretty as the other girls , or ,the book can touch the popular girl of the school who is pushed down by preer pressure trying to live up her reputatiob in hte school. i think if a mother was to read this book though it would make them more concerned with their teenage girls and make them want to be more active with them. as for the whole bulimic thing you just have to really look inside the book and realize that it might make you loose weight but it does nothing else for except make you feel even more worse about yourself.

BEST BOOK EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST BEST BEST!
My friend, who's not a big reader, picked up this book one day. Right away, she was hooked. She finished it within days- REALLY amazing for her. She gave it to me without saying anything except READ IT. I didn't know if maybe it was gross and she wanted me to have a good laugh or what. I read and I, also, was hooked. We talk about all the time even though we read it a long time ago. We've also told our other friends and they all love it too! I've read a lot of books since then and I still think this is number one! Natasha Friend is great!!!! I don't think it's very bad (language, sex, ect.). I think kids should know about that stuff and if they don't understand what a charater is talking about, they should ask a parent. Charaters always have a reason and most get better by the end. Most of that stuff is also funny. I LOVE PERFECT!!!

A must read for anyone who has ever gotten lost in a book
This is a great book! i read this in the coarse of 6 hours! this is a treat for girls who love to read also it shows what a girls life is like sometimes and what things can happen in it. Nataha Friend has also down great books after this to and may I recomend them to you Bounce and Lush. Lush is about a girl who has things to worry about such as her drunk attack dad and being sexually harrased. Also she faces trouble with classmates and friends. that is really a 5 star book in my thoughts. She does it again in Bounce another hart warming book by her. it is about a girl named evln and her brother and they are fourced to move to a whole other place with her dads fieanca (the kids call there dad birdie)and her 7 children! All these books are great a true thriller and they will show anybody the secreats to any girls heart. I LOVE THESE BOOKS SO YOU SHOULD READ THEM TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Greatest Book I've Read in a While.
This book was excellent. Natasha Friend does a fabulous job as a 13 year old girl who has Bulimia, an eating disorder where you binge and purge, and she befriends the most popular girl in school after seeing her at a Bulimia group therapy session. She ditches her friends and her bulimia gets worse as she and Ashley Barnum (the popular girl) start throwing up together all the time. She somehow can't say no to Ashley, and by the end she finally does. I liked this book alot. I read it and recommended it to my friend Natalie.

this book was amazing
i loved this book it showed such great emotion how a girl finally faces the fact she has to move on. She need to talk about her problems. Also that weight and looks don't matter as long as you stay healthy but vomiting isn't healthy and people should know why.

I LOVED it!
This book was amazing for me! I could totly relate to so many of the feelings Isabelle had! I think this book is a must-read for every teenager! It helps you realise how lucky you are, and how even if you think that popular girl with the clothes and the looks seems perfect, she's not. And it reminds us all that we are all beautiful. I would recomend this book to anyone over 12!
